About Kakadu
Kakadu is a gazetted locality in the Northern Territory covering the same area as Kakadu National Park, a protected area in the Alligator Rivers Region about 171 km south-east of Darwin. The park was established in 1979 and is listed as a World Heritage Site and a Ramsar wetland, known for its escarpment country and wetlands.
