About Berrimah

Berrimah is an eastern suburb of Darwin in the Northern Territory, Australia, located 12 kilometres from the CBD. The Aboriginal name means "place where the sick man gets better". Primarily industrial and commercial, it was the site of the 119th Army General Hospital during World War II and the former Berrimah Prison. It has a multicultural community with significant Aboriginal and Filipino populations.
