About Heathcote (NSW)

Heathcote is a suburb of Sydney in the Sutherland Shire, about 36 km south of the CBD between the Royal and Heathcote national parks. Originally known as Bottle Forest and named by Sir Thomas Mitchell after a Peninsula Wars officer, it was served by the Illawarra railway line from 1886 and retains the heritage-listed Heathcote Hall.
