About Austral
Austral is a suburb in Sydney's south-west about 42 km from the CBD in the City of Liverpool, established in 1891 and named after the Austral Banking and Land Proprietary Company. Historically a semi-rural area, it is now part of the NSW Government's South West Growth Area undergoing rapid residential development with plans for at least 17,350 new homes. Austral Public School established in 1893 and connected via Bringelly Road and the Westlink M7 to Liverpool and greater Sydney are notable features.
