About Mount Riverview

Mount Riverview is a residential town in the Lower Blue Mountains of New South Wales, about 70 km west of Sydney and 2 km north-east of Blaxland, on foothill slopes overlooking the Nepean River and Emu Plains. The name comes from a property bought in 1920 whose owner built a treetop lookout with tearooms that became a tourist attraction before the 1944 bushfires destroyed it. First subdivided around that time, the town grew gradually and was gazetted in 1964, and is now a leafy bushland suburb on the edge of the Blue Mountains National Park.
