About Newport (NSW)
Newport is a coastal suburb on Sydney's Northern Beaches, about 31 km north of the CBD between the Pacific Ocean and Pittwater. Known for its beach lifestyle, it features Newport Beach, the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club and the iconic Newport Arms Hotel. Originally a 19th-century steamer port, Newport transformed from a holiday destination to a permanent residential suburb after the 1950s.
