About Tennyson (NSW)
Tennyson is a semi-rural suburb of Sydney in the City of Hawkesbury, about 72 kilometres north-west of the CBD and north of the Hawkesbury River near North Richmond. The scattered settlement, formerly known as Sally's Bottom, took its present name in 1894 when the Department of Education renamed its local public school. Today it is a quiet rural area of rolling farmland and bushland on Darug traditional land, with acreage properties and hobby farms.
