About Mount Irvine

Mount Irvine is a small village in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, in the City of Blue Mountains on a basalt spur that is the traditional land of the Gundungurra and Dharug peoples. It was opened for settlement in 1897 after surveyor Charles Scrivener mapped the road, and the first settlers planted orchards and grazed cattle on rich volcanic soils. Today the remote village is known for its rainforest, tree ferns, chestnut and walnut groves, and scenic bush walks.
