About Cherrybrook

Cherrybrook is a suburb of northern Sydney, in Hornsby Shire, forming part of the Hills District in the upper catchment of Berowra Creek. The Dharug people are the original inhabitants of the area. Named after Joseph and Mary Ann Harrison's orchard known as Cherrybrook Farm, it remained orchards and poultry farms until the 1950s, then became Sydney's first project-home village when it was subdivided in 1959, with most housing developed from the 1970s.
