About Ladysmith

Ladysmith is a village on the Olympic Highway in the Riverina of New South Wales, about 19 km east of Wagga Wagga on gently rolling southern-Riverina farmland. The community, earlier called Alfredtown, was renamed Ladysmith at the end of the 19th century. The disused railway line from Wagga to Tumbarumba runs through the village, and the heritage-listed railway station, which closed in 1975, is now operated by the Ladysmith Tourist Railway, offering rail-trike rides on a short section of the former line.
