About Ellerslie (Snowy Valleys - NSW)

Ellerslie is a rural locality in the Snowy Valleys region of New South Wales, in hilly grazing country about 14 km west of Adelong and 35 km from Tumut. It is named after Ellerslie Station, a large fine-wool sheep property whose clips were among the most sought after in the state, and whose sale in 1936 was one of the biggest station transactions in southern New South Wales. The locality is watered by permanent creeks and remains sheep and cattle grazing country.
