About Brookong
Brookong is a rural locality in the Riverina region of New South Wales, named after Brookong Creek. The area was originally the vast Brookong sheep station covering over 200,000 hectares. In 1888, the Shearer's Riot at Brookong played a significant role in Australias labour and political history. The land is now used for broadacre wheat, canola, and livestock farming.
