About The Pocket
The Pocket is a village in the Byron Shire hinterland of northern New South Wales, set in a valley between the foothills of the Mount Jerusalem ranges about 28 kilometres west of Byron Bay. Named for its sheltered position among the hills, the area was originally part of the Big Scrub rainforest and settled from the 1840s for cedar logging before transitioning to dairying. Today it is known for organic farming, macadamia orchards and its creative community.
