About Mongogarie
Mongogarie is a rural locality in the Richmond Valley of far northern New South Wales, situated approximately 40 kilometres west of Casino in the upper Richmond River catchment. The rolling pastoral country and remnant Big Scrub rainforest supports cattle grazing on large rural properties in the lush Northern Rivers hinterland. The locality is deeply rural with no village services, and residents rely entirely on Casino for shopping, schools and amenities. Mongogarie Creek, a key fish habitat, flows through the area.
