About Kyogle
Kyogle is a town in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, on the banks of the Richmond River about 30 kilometres north of Casino and close to the Queensland border. It was founded in the 1830s as a lumber camp and later became a service town for the timber and dairy industries. The name comes from the Bundjalung word kaiou-gal, meaning place of the bush turkey. The town is known as a gateway to the region's national parks, including the Border Ranges and Toonumbar.
