About Tamworth
Tamworth is a major regional city in the north-eastern region of New South Wales, on the banks of the Peel River, roughly midway between Brisbane and Sydney. Known as the Country Music Capital of Australia, it hosts the annual Tamworth Country Music Festival, and it was the first town in Australia to install electric street lighting, earning it the nickname the First Town of Lights.
