Mole River is a sparsely populated rural locality in the Northern Tablelands, approximately 20 kilometres south-west of Tenterfield. The landscape is elevated pastoral and granite country reaching above 1,000 metres, occasionally receiving snowfall in winter, with sheep and cattle stations across sweeping New England country.
