About Gum Flat
Gum Flat is a rural locality in the New England region of New South Wales, situated about 40 kilometres south of Inverell within Inverell Shire. The area features flat terrain on fertile red-soil tablelands supporting sheep and cattle grazing amid scattered eucalyptus woodland, and is located near Copeton Dam, a major water storage on the Gwydir River.
