About Mungo

Mungo is a remote rural locality in Balranald Shire in far south-western New South Wales, in the World Heritage-listed Willandra Lakes Region. The locality encompasses Mungo National Park and the dry Lake Mungo, whose lunette known as the Walls of China holds the remains of Mungo Man and Mungo Lady, buried on the lake shore more than 42,000 years ago.
