About Thumb Creek

Thumb Creek is a remote rural locality in the Nambucca Shire of the Mid North Coast in New South Wales, located about 374 kilometres from Sydney at the junction of Thumb Creek and Taylors Arm, a tributary of the Nambucca River. The landscape features steep, forested country in the headwaters with dense eucalypt forest and rugged terrain. Historically significant for antimony mining from the 1890s, the area is near the village of Taylors Arm, famous as the inspiration for The Pub With No Beer, the Australian folk song made world-famous by Slim Dusty.
