About Shallow Bay

Shallow Bay is a small coastal locality in the Tweed Shire of far north New South Wales, situated on the shores of the Tweed River estuary near the southern bank of the river mouth. The area is characterised by coastal wetlands, mangrove-lined waterways and low-lying coastal scrub, with the nearby town of Cabarita Beach and the Tweed Coast providing a backdrop of beachside communities. Shallow Bay sits within a landscape of tidal flats, saltmarsh and remnant coastal vegetation typical of the Tweed River floodplain.
