About Hartys Plains
Hartys Plains is a small rural locality in the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council area of the Mid North Coast in New South Wales, located about 300 kilometres northeast of Sydney and 27 kilometres from Port Macquarie. The landscape features rolling rural country near Bago State Forest with Gannons Creek running through the area. Part of the Birpai Aboriginal cultural area, the locality was settled from the 1820s to 1830s with early pastoral runs, and the region's economy historically centred on timber and dairy farming.
