About Copeland

Copeland is a small rural settlement in the Mid-Coast Council area, located about 19 kilometres west of Gloucester in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. The area was a gold rush locality from the late 1870s, and the nearby Copeland Tops State Conservation Area preserves relics of the historic Mountain Maid gold mine alongside wet sclerophyll forest and dry rainforest. It sits on the edge of the Barrington Coast hinterland, with rolling hills, forested ridges and access to Barrington Tops National Park.
