About Whittingham
Whittingham is a locality on the Hunter River in the Singleton Council area of the Hunter Valley, New South Wales, about four kilometres south-east of Singleton. It was the point where John Howe's 1819 exploring party first reached the Hunter River, and the government once considered establishing the district's town there. Whittingham was served by a railway station from 1869 and retains two heritage-listed properties, Minimbah House and Neotsfield.
