About Wallarobba
Wallarobba is a small country town in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, about 15 kilometres south-west of Dungog. The village grew from the subdivision of the Wallarobba estate, originally owned by Alexander Baxter, and was boosted by the arrival of the railway about 1911. Its post office ran from 1878 to 1978 and its public school until 1971, and the town still has a railway station on the line between Newcastle and Dungog, along with a memorial hall and rural fire brigade.
