About Timor (NSW)
Timor is a rural locality in the Upper Hunter Shire of New South Wales, situated approximately 24 kilometres north-east of Murrurundi near the Liverpool Range. The area features notable limestone caves including Main Cave, an important winter roosting site for eastern bent-wing bats. Silver mines were worked in the 1870s and a public school operated from 1879 to 1935.
