About Muscle Creek
Muscle Creek is a rural locality in the Muswellbrook Shire of the Hunter Region of New South Wales, south of the town of Muswellbrook. It takes its name from Muscle Creek, a waterway named for the freshwater mussels that were once abundant along its banks and which flows into the Hunter River. The area is largely grazing country, and the name is recorded as early as 1827.
