About Melville (NSW)
Melville is a rural locality in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, about 11 km north of Maitland in the City of Maitland local government area. The Hunter River runs along its southern and western boundary, rising to Rosebrook Ridge in the north, on the traditional lands of the Wonnarua people. The area grew around the historic Melville Ford, where a bridge linking Melville with Aberglasslyn was opened in 1897.
