About Marshdale

Marshdale is a sparsely settled rural locality in the Dungog Shire of the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, about 167 kilometres from Sydney. The area features hilly countryside with creek flats to gently undulating grazing land along Thalaba Creek, surrounded by farmland and native bushland. Named after the Marsh family, prominent early settlers from the 1840s who built the first bridge over the Williams River, the locality contains the Thalaba Baptist Community Cemetery with graves of founding families.
