About Wilbetree
Wilbetree is a rural locality in the Mid-Western Regional Council area of the Central Tablelands in New South Wales, located about 11 kilometres north of Mudgee and 289 kilometres from Sydney along the upper Cudgegong River at approximately 450 to 500 metres elevation. On the traditional country of the Wiradjuri people, the first European land grant was made to Samuel Lowe in the 1820s, and gold was discovered during the Mudgee goldfields rush of the 1850s to 1870s. The area sits within the Mudgee wine region, home to over 35 wineries including the nearby Lowe Family Wine Co.
