About Tallawang

Tallawang is a historical locality in central western New South Wales, situated 27 kilometres north of Gulgong in the valley of Tallawang Creek, a tributary of the Cudgegong River. The name derives from a Wiradjuri word for apple gum, and the area has a rich pastoral and gold mining history dating to the 1830s, with a minor gold rush in the 1860s.
