About Mardi
Mardi is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, within the Central Coast Council local government area. Its name derives from an Aboriginal word meaning "stone knife." Located about 3 kilometres southwest of Wyong, the suburb features low-lying, gently undulating terrain. The Mardi Dam, built in 1962, and the adjacent Water Treatment Plant supply roughly half of the Central Coast's drinking water. Mardi retains a semi-rural character, bordered by Tuggerah State Forest, with Mardi Creek flowing through the locality.
