About Wyanbene
Wyanbene is a locality in southern New South Wales between Braidwood and Cooma, on the edge of Deua National Park. Its name is recorded as "Wi-an-be-an", an Aboriginal term meaning creek of running water, a reference to Wyanbene Creek. The area is sheep and cattle farming country and is known for the Wyanbene Caves, a cave system in the park that shelters bat species and other wildlife.
