About Wonboyn

Wonboyn is a locality in the Bega Valley Shire of New South Wales, on the shore of Wonboyn Lake at the northern end of Nadgee Nature Reserve. It is the southernmost village in the state, essentially surrounded by bush. An oyster industry developed on the lake in the early 20th century, and its oysters helped stock oyster farms on other South Coast estuaries; commercial fishing also took place there. The village is a popular destination for fishermen and campers.
