About Wee Jasper

Wee Jasper is a locality in the Yass Valley Shire of New South Wales, about 90 km north-west of Canberra in the Goodradigbee valley at the foot of the Brindabella Ranges, edged by the backwaters of Burrinjuck Dam. The valley is famous for its limestone caves, including Carey's Cave, regarded as one of Australia's finest, and has yielded Devonian fish fossils. The Goodradigbee River and Burrinjuck Dam make the area a destination for fishing, boating and camping, and the bush poet Banjo Paterson lived at nearby Coodra Vale station in the early 1900s.
