About Mumbulla Mountain
Mumbulla Mountain is a locality in the Bega Valley on the far south coast of New South Wales, surrounding the mountain known to the Yuin people as Biamanga, which rises in the middle of Biamanga National Park about 20 km from Bega. The mountain is the park's most significant site, particularly for men, and the land was named after respected Yuin elder Jack Mumbler, whose tribal name was Biamanga. The park was handed back to the Yuin people in 2006 and is jointly managed with the state, and the surrounding forests form part of an Important Bird Area for swift parrots.
