About Creewah

Creewah is a rural locality in the Snowy Monaro Regional Council area of the Capital Region in New South Wales, located about 20 kilometres southeast of Bombala and 362 kilometres from Sydney in the Monaro Highlands. The landscape features rugged high-country terrain at elevated altitude with an alpine-influenced climate, native eucalypt forest, and open grazing land, with the headwaters of the Bombala River flowing through the area. The ABC Landcare group has undertaken significant revegetation and river rehabilitation work, while the broader Bombala area was once proposed as Australia's capital in 1903 and is promoted as Platypus Country.
