About Boro
Boro is a rural locality in the Queanbeyan-Palerang Region of New South Wales, near the village of Tarago and about 50 kilometres south of Goulburn. The name is a variation of the Aboriginal bora ring. Boro Creek, a tributary of the Shoalhaven River, runs through the area, where the bushranger William Westwood, known as Jackey Jackey, once operated. Silver was mined in the district and a number of mining relics and shafts remain around the locality.
