About Strathnairn
Strathnairn is a suburb in the Belconnen district of Canberra, west of Holt, gazetted in 2016 as part of the Ginninderry development on the border with New South Wales. It takes its name from the 1934 Strathnairn Homestead, a former farmstead that has been a community arts facility since 1977, on land once part of the grazing property established by Captain Charles Sturt in 1837. The suburb, which grew out of the resumed Belconnen estate, is a newly developed residential area with parkland and community facilities.
