About Nicholls
Nicholls is a suburb in the Gungahlin district of Canberra, named after Sir Douglas Nicholls, an Aboriginal pastor, activist and footballer who served as Governor of South Australia from 1976 to 1977. The suburb contains the remnants of Ginninderra Village, one of the earliest settlements in the Canberra region, including the historic Ginninderra Schoolhouse, built in 1883.
