About Franklin (ACT)
Franklin is a modern residential suburb established in 2007 in Canberra's Gungahlin district, about 11 km north-northwest of the CBD, named after Australian novelist Miles Franklin. Streets are named after female Australian writers, and the suburb features Gubur Dhaura Heritage Park with an Ngunnawal Aboriginal ochre quarry and 360-degree views, the Franklin wetlands and Gungaderra Creek. Approximately half parkland, it is served by three Canberra Metro light rail stations along Flemington Road.
