About Dickson
Dickson is a suburb in the Inner North of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory, about four kilometres north of the city centre. It is named after Sir James Dickson, a Queensland advocate of federation and one of the founders of the Australian Constitution. The suburb was gazetted in 1928 on land that had housed the original Canberra Aerodrome and later the Dickson Experiment Station, and it now includes the Dickson Centre, a significant commercial centre of the Inner North.
