About Amby
Amby is a rural town and locality in the Maranoa Region of Queensland, about 25 kilometres south-east of Mitchell and 64 kilometres west of Roma. Originally called Amby Creek when the township formed in 1883, it is known for the basalt Amby Quarry lava flow and a historic stage changeover shanty from 1875. It sits where the grain and grazing belts meet.
